The Scale Model

I located a 1:12 scale wooden model of a Prospector. I put in an order last week. I expect it in at any time. It even comes with WEST system resin. I reckon the model will give me something to do inside when it gets too cold out. Also, it should be good practice for the real thing - a mock-up of any project is always a good idea. The Chestnut Prospector

I have decided on the canoe I am going to build. I am going to build the 16' Chestnut Prospector discussed in Canoecraft. Bear Mountain Boat Shop (the people that put out Canoecraft) out of Ontario has a set of plans for it.

An 18' canoe would be ideal. But, the 16' will have to suffice as the first canoe.
